Kings Ink Cammalleri, Hauser And Wilford

MANCHESTER, NH – The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have agreed to terms on one-year contracts with restricted free agent forward Michael Cammalleri and goaltender Adam Hauser, and a two-year contract with unrestricted free agent defenseman Marty Wilford, Kings Senior Vice President/General Manager Dave Taylor announced today.  Per club policy, terms of the agreements were not announced.

Cammalleri, 23, appeared in 79 games during the 2004-05 season with the Monarchs, recording an AHL-best 46 goals and 109 points, which were second most in the League.  The 5-foot-9, 180-pound native of Richmond Hill, Ontario, added another six points (1-5=6) in six post-season games with the Monarchs, plus he skated for the Canadian AHL All-Stars at the 2005 AHL All-Star Classic (hosted by Manchester) and was named an AHL Second Team All-Star at the conclusion of the season.

Originally selected by the Kings in the second-round (49th overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Cammalleri has 23 points (14-9=23) and 42 penalty minutes in 59 career NHL regular season games – all with the Kings.

Hauser, 25, appeared in 32 games with the Monarchs during the 2004-05 regular season, posting a record of 19-11-0, five shutouts, a goals-against-average of 1.93 and a save-percentage of .933.  He also saw duty in two post-season contests with the Monarchs, registering no record, a goals-against-average of 1.71 and a save-percentage of .905.  The 6-foot-2, 194-pound native of Bovey, Minnesota, ranked third in the AHL in goals-against-average and fourth in save-percentage.  The Edmonton Oilers originally selected Hauser in the third-round (81st overall) in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.

Wilford, 28, appeared in 78 games with the AHL’s Norfolk Admirals during the 2004-05 regular season, registering 37 points (7-30=37) and 80 penalty minutes.  The 6-foot-1, 215-pound native of Cobourg, Ontario, also appeared in six post-season games with the Admirals, collecting four points (all assists) and 15 penalty minutes.  Wilford was originally selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the sixth-round (149th overall) in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft.
