Kings Assign Pushkarev To Manchester

MANCHESTER, NH – The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have assigned right wing Konstantin Pushkarev to the Monarchs, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

Pushkarev, 21, has played in eight games with the Kings this season and has three points (1-2=3) and four penalty minutes.  Pushkarev, who scored his first NHL goal on January 8 against Edmonton at STAPLES Center, was recalled by the Kings on January 4 from Manchester, where he had 15 points (4-11=15) and 23 penalty minutes in 29 games with the Monarchs this season.

A 6-foot, 180-pound native of Ust-Kamenogorst, Kazakhstan, Pushkarev was originally selected by the Kings in the second-round (44th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.  He made his Kings/NHL debut last season, recording one point (0-1=1) and zero penalty minutes in one game.

The Monarchs continue their bus trip through Texas with a 6:00 p.m. (EST) puck drop with the San Antonio Rampage on Sunday, January 21.  Catch all of the play-by-play action of Monarchs hockey with Ken Cail on the Monarchs Radio Network WGIR-AM 610 and at www.monarchshockey.com.  Watch the game live on B2 Networks for just $6 per game.  Log onto www.monarchshockey.com and click on the link to B2 Networks ten minutes prior to each Monarchs game to watch the game live!
