MONTREAL, PQ – Left wing Kyle Clifford was the first of nine players selected by the Los Angeles Kings, parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, (second-round, 35th overall) in today’s second and final day of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft at the Bell Centre in Montreal. The Kings also acquired a third round pick in the 2010 draft from the New York Rangers in exchange for center Brian Boyle.
MONTREAL, PQ – The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have selected center Brayden Schenn in the first round (fifth overall) of today’s NHL Entry Draft at the Bell Centre in Montreal. The Kings have 12 more selections in rounds two through seven, which takes place tomorrow morning.
LOS ANGELES, CA – Luc Robitaille, the highest scoring left wing in NHL history and the all-time Kings leader in goals, was today selected for the Hockey Hall of Fame that organization announced today on a national media conference call. Robitaille, the Kings’ President, Business Operations, joins Steve Yzerman, Brett Hull and Brian Leetch as part of the 2009 Induction Class, with induction ceremonies set for November 9 in Toronto.
