Monarchs Recall Jones

MANCHESTER, NH – The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have recalled goaltender Martin Jones from the ECHL’s Ontario Reign, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today.

Jones, 20, appeared in one game with the Reign this season, posting his first professional win with a 3.76 goals-against-average and a .867 save percentage.  The 6-foot-4, 191-pound native of North Vancouver, British Columbia competed with the Western Hockey League’s Calgary Hitmen during the 2009-10 season and collected a 36-11-1 record, a 2.21 goals-against-average, a .919 save percentage and eight shutouts in 48 games.  Jones was named the WHL Goaltender of the Year and to WHL’s First-Team All-Star.  He will wear No. 30 for Manchester.
