Monarchs Announce Roster Moves

Manchester, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, primary club of the Los Angeles Kings, have recalled right wing J.D. Watt from the ECHL's Ontario Reign and sign left wing Chris Cloud to a professional tryout agreement, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today.

Watt, 24, has appeared in all 22 games for the Reign this season recording seven points (1-6=7) and 66 penalty minutes.  Watt has played in 149 career American Hockey League games and will wear number 10 for the Monarchs.

The Cremona, Alberta native played in 27 games while registering four points (1-3=4), 74 penalty minutes and an AHL career-best plus-7 ratio with the Abbotsford Heat (AHL) during the 2010-11 season.  Watt also appeared in 10 games for the San Antonio Rampage (AHL) during the 2010-11 season recording two points (1-1=2) and 13 penalty minutes.

The 6-foot-2, 196-pound forward tallied an AHL career-high eight goals and 267 penalty minutes while playing in 70 games for the Heat for the 2009-10 season.  In those 70 games, Watt tallied 13 points (8-5=13).

Cloud, 23, has appeared in all 22 games for the ECHL’s Ontario Reign this season recording 10 points (5-5=10) and 84 penalty minutes.  He will wear number 39 for the Monarchs.

The Waywayseecappo, Manitoba native spent the 2010-11 season between two Central Hockey League teams.  Cloud appeared in eight games for the Tulsa Oilers (CHL) recording zero points and 25 penalty minutes.  He was traded to the Bloomington Prairie Thunder (CHL) and registered 13 points (2-11=13).  He also set professional career-highs with 103 penalty minutes and a plus-8 rating in Bloomington.

Cloud made his professional debut with the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL) during the 2009-10 season appearing in three games and registering zero points. The left wing finished the 2009-10 season with the Amarillo Gorillas (CHL) tallying professional career-bests in goals (eight), assists (13), points (21) and games played (56).
