Hello once again to everyone in Monarchs Country!  It was great seeing everyone at Summer Fan Fest last Saturday.  I had so much fun and even made some new friends!

A couple days ago, I was asked what was my favorite part about Summer Fan Fest?  As I think about it, there were so many things to choose from!  How do I choose from all the Activities?!  I loved the rock climbing wall and got great deal at the giant Monarchs Pro Shop blowout sale.  The music was great courtesy of WZID and the live music provided by the band Section 8.  I even managed to make a few pennies playing games with St. Mary’s Bank, not to mention all the inflatable activities or the Street Hockey Tournament!  I think if I had to choose my two favorite things about Summer Fan Fest were seeing former Monarchs center Derek Bekar in the dunk tank and the other has to be being able to be with the greatest fans in the world!

My buddies Coco the Cow, Fungo, Milo (who loves the New Hampshire Motor Speedway) and Gnarlz (the craziest Wildcat I know) were also up to their old tricks.  Fungo loved the face painting and needed to be put in hand cuffs by the Manchester Police to keep him away form hitting all the buttons in the SWAT vehicle.  Coco the Cow may be a fire fighter one day after showcasing his skills by climbing on Manchester fire truck and trying on their gear.  Gnarlz has a soft spot for the Five Guys Burgers and Fries truck and apparently is a pretty good drummer as he helped Section 8 rock out to some tuens.  Milo tried to steal Zamboni that was parked on Elm Street but did make it to far with the Street Hockey Tournament blocking his way!

I already cannot wait for next year’s Summer Fan Fest!  Thanks to everyone that came out and had fun with me on Saturday.

The votes are in and with so many good choices, it will be interesting to see which logo has been voted to be the official VIP Cup logo.  Stay tuned for the announcement of the grand prize winner on Friday!  The rivalry between the Monarchs and the Portland Pirates was already well known and now with the VIP Cup at stake, it should make this coming season very interesting!  I know it is only 79 days until the Monarchs Opening Weekend but it cannot come soon enough!

On Tuesday, I attended a Derry Fun Run at Londonderry High School.  The Derry Fun Runs have seen great support so far this summer.  Even former Monarchs left wing Jeff Giuliano stopped by this past Tuesday to show his support!  The Greater Derry Track Club organized the series of runs at Londonderry High School where they collect donations of non-perishable food items.  The items are then donated to the St. Thomas Food Pantry in Derry.  I heard that the Derry Fun Run averages about 350 pounds of food donated each week!  I say next week we try and get to 500 pounds!  The last race in the series is next Tuesday so do not miss it.  If you need any more information,

It is going to be a fun month of August ladies and gentleman and lets not forget that the Monarchs season schedule should be out in a couple of weeks!  So there is plenty to look forward to this month!

Do not forget to stay in touch with me by reading my blog or inviting me with you on your adventures!  Hey, I have to pass the time until Opening Weekend somehow and what better way than with you!  Only 79 more days!!!
