Kings Sign Defenseman Kurtis MacDermid

LOS ANGELES, CA – The 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have signed defenseman Kurtis MacDermid to a three-year entry level contract, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

MacDermid, 18, played last season with the Ontario Hockey League’s Owen Sound Attack. In nine games he had two assists and seven penalty minutes.

The 6-foot-3, 186-pound native of Sauble Beach, Ontario also played with the Owen Sound Greys of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (junior B level), recording nine points (3-6=9) and 80 penalty minutes in 20 games.

MacDermid participated at the Kings annual Development Camp in July.
