Are you ready Monarchs Country!?  The Monarchs regular season starts this Friday night in Providence before the Monarchs Opening Night on Friday, October 19.  The team looks great so far!  The Monarchs won all three of their exhibition games last weekend and finished it with a 7-1 thumping against the Portland Pirates in a VIP Cup preview game on Monday!

For those that missed out on the first two Monarchs exhibition games, not to worry as I am here to catch you up!  In the exhibition opener on Friday night, right wing Jordan Nolan and center Andrei Loktionov scored third period goals against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers to defeat them by a score of 2-0.  The team then had a thrilling overtime victory against the Pirates, 4-3, in Portland on Sunday.  In that game the Monarchs trailed by a goal on two different occasions.

I know they are only exhibition games but it is hard to not be excited about this team when they take to the ice!  Is it too early to submit my guess for who will score the first Monarchs goal on Friday night?!

In between watching the Monarchs open their season with back-to-back road games, I will be hitting up a couple great events this weekend.  On Saturday afternoon, you should meet me at Veterans Park in downtown Manchester for the New England Chili Classic.  It has been a few weeks since I last participated in a chili festival and I think my taste buds will be ready to go for this weekend.  The event lasts for two days so there is plenty of time to satisfy your chili appetite!

On Sunday, I will be out supporting autism awareness along with the Autism Society of New Hampshire at their ninth annual nature walk.  Registration for the walk begins at 9:00 a.m. so get there early and be ready to have some fun for a good cause!  I will be there so you know it will be a good time!

As for my prediction for the Monarchs Season Opening games this weekend, I think the Monarchs win 4-1 against Providence on Friday night and 3-1 against Albany on Saturday night!  What do you think the final scores will be?  Tell me on my Facebook page and we can debate! FYI – the only right answers are the predictions that say the Monarchs win both games!

Thanks for reading my blog this week!  Stay tuned for next week’s blog when I talk with my buddy and Monarchs right wing Stefan Legein!  You will not want to miss it!  Go Monarchs!
