The Jungle was rocking last weekend and it feels so good to be back! The Manchester Monarchs are leading the Atlantic Division with a 3-1-0-0 record and also took the early 1-0 series lead in the inaugural VIP Cup with a victory over the Portland Pirates on Saturday night!
The Jungle will be rocking again this weekend as the Monarchs host the Worcester Sharks for the first time this season on Saturday night and then again on Sunday when the Binghamton Senators come to town for a 4:00 p.m. game.
Sunday’s game against the Senators is the Monarchs Canadian Heritage Night meaning I have to practice speaking the French language so I will be ready for this special game! Canadian Heritage Night will have Montreal Canadiens’ Public Address Announcer Sebastien Goulet announce the game in both English and French! There are some great Canadian themed prizes for fans to win such as Loonies or ketchup chips. The Verizon Wireless Arena will also be serving some French-Canadian foods such as Poutine and Montreal smoked meat! Bon appétit everyone!
This is one of my favorite times of year! The hockey season is off and running! The leaves are changing colors and with Halloween fast approaching, it is always great to see people dressed up in costumes and having a good time!
I have so many Halloween parties to go to this week and I cannot wait! On Friday, I will be a judge in a costume parade in Exeter! I think I make a good judge because people say I have a certain “je ne sais quoi” that charms everyone I meet. I am bringing Monarchs tickets with me that everyone will have a chance to win! See you at the parade at 3:30 p.m.!
On Monday, I will be heading up to the Ellis School in Fremont where they will be buying back Halloween candy and sending it to U.S. Military deployed in combat through Operation Gratitude and other Military support groups. Sometimes the troops enjoy the candy but most of the time, they give it out to the children in the community they patrol. Come make a difference with me between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. next Monday.
I have to go and keep practicing French as once this weekend is over and the Monarchs get two victories, I am sure fans will be calling the Monarchs the “Crème de la crème” (best of the best) in the American Hockey League! See you all this week! Go Monarchs!
