Kings Sign Nick Shore
LOS ANGELES, CA – The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have signed forward Nick Shore to a three-year entry level contract, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.
Shore, 20, was selected by the Kings in the third round (82nd overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. The 6-foot-0, 190-pounder is a native of Denver, Colorado.
Shore has played the last three seasons for the University of Denver. This year he played in 39 games and recorded a team-leading 34 points (14-20=34). Shore’s 14 goals lead the team, while his 20 assists were tied for the team lead.
In 2011-12 Shore recorded 41 points (13-28=41) for the University of Denver. He ranked third on the team in points, third in goals and second in assists. During his freshman year in 2010-11 he had 18 points (7-11=18).
He also has experience with the U.S. National Dev. Team and the U.S. Nat. Under-18 Team. For the U.S. he earned a gold medal at the 2010 World Uunder-18 Championships.
The Monarchs host the Worcester Sharks on Fan Appreciation Day at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Sunday, April 14 at 3:00 p.m. The first 2,000 fans in attendance will receive a Monarchs Tumbler.
